I just uploaded BOY PUPPET to Smashwords in Graphic book / Comics section. I tried a new technique — a softer look pencil drawing with color tint. It did not publish as well as I wanted, so I won’t use this technique again. The story is a fable with a twist on the Pinocchio story. For a free download:

This is my first graphic book. My mother was a traditional Catholic with strong beliefs about life, death, and the coming afterlife. In the last few months of her life, she expressed doubts and worries about all this. This is what I imagine as her final conversation with Death. Also indie published on Smashwords. This graphic book received the 2012 Sue Alexander Scholarship Award for best unpublished manuscript from the Southern California Society of Children’s Books/Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Had initial interest from an agent and editor for publication. After making suggested changes, their interest evaporated. Contacted a number of other agents and editors with no results.
Alec and Gabi Clayton (Clayton Works) of Olympia Washington started Mud Flat Press. Through them SQUAWK! was reformatted for publication. A print version is now available on CreateSpace E-store and a digital version on Amazon.
